I have a query about a house, Dhs parents died last year and we were planning to sell their house once it is cleared (Mammoth task) but now his brother says he would like to buy it, i assume it is not as simple as him just paying half the value to DH can anyone advise of the steps that need to be taken so this can happen?

Is there not a probate lawyer handling the matter?

Probate all done but yes we could go back to her i guess but we didn't think the service they provided was very good for a few reasons.

I’m assuming that the house is still in the name of the parent at the Land Registry?
If probate is complete, who is the executor? You can just use a regular conveyancing solicitor for this - but it’s wise for both the executor and the buyer (your brother) to use their own. The cost of the sellers solicitor will come out of the proceeds from the sale, whilst your brother will pay his own legal fees, just as he would if he were buying any other house.
