Specific issue order - necessary?

I'm separating from my partner in December, and moving DD (age 3) and DS (age 1) to new nurseries. For DD it will be a change of nursery but for DS just his first nursery. DD's current nursery goes up to age 4, and I'm moving her to a Preschool which is part of a Prep School that is up to age 11 which I intend her to stay at.

Partner hasn't signed anything including DD's school acceptance form but they are happy to take her with just my signature and I'm the one paying fees.

Do I have to get a specific issue order from the court to legalise her change of nursery if he refuses to sign? Or can I just continue without his signature? I've paid enough in legal fees!!

I think its only an issue if he objects

It’s also only an issue for a particular school, as that is more long term.

Is he likely to?

He can block a school place and register her at a school close to his home, but is that likely of you are paying the fees? Is he prepared to go to court and end up paying half?

You only need a Specific Issue Order if there is a disagreement, e.g. he wants them to attend your DD's current nursery. Even then, you don't have to get an order, in which case he would have to apply for a Prohibited Steps Order if he wanted to stop you making the change.
