How do I get company to respond?

I won’t go into too many specifics or details but I had a complaint in with a company because information that they had on me was wrong.
I have since changed provider.
The company has now stopped responding to me regarding requests for assurance that the wrong information has been taken off.
I suspect they have closed the complaint without it being resolved and are now ignoring me.
If i am no longer with the company, do they have to respond if eg I put in a new complaint?
i could go to ombudsman but would rather just get it sorted.
So could I put in a new complaint?
Or any ideas how I could get them to respond?
As I say, I suspect they have just closed the complaint.
Thanks.

That’s a good idea although I can’t get back into my twitter as I can’t remember my username!

It's impossible to give advice based on the info you've provided.

If the company is your local gym and the incorrect info was your address, obviously it doesn't matter.

If it's a health insurance provider with incorrect medical info, it obviously does and must be corrected.

Assuming it's closer to the latter as you mention an ombudsman, if the company won't respond, you'll need to take it further if you want/need whatever it is corrected.

My experience of ombudsmen is that they won't get involved if you are not a customer of said company.

You can email their data protection officer and request that all your personal data is deleted and ask them to confirm when they have done this.
GDPR has its uses sometimes

Thanks so far, it’s so frustrating as I asked for confirmation of the wrong information being taken off and they are ignoring me!

Submit a dsar which should include a trail of your requests.

Thanks- I have all the emails I have sent as well.
They must have basically closed the complaint without it being resolved.
