LPA question

I need a LPA quickly (I know it can take twenty weeks). Can I get it faster does anyone know? (I want a health one for DH).

do you print is as soon as you’ve finished it? (And then get signatures?)

every friend I can think of that can witness of DH’s signature (the certificate provider, I think) that I can ask are all about to go on holiday, work trips etc. if I can print it and get dh to sign it to or with the certificate provider in next day or so I’m ok, but if the LPA needs dealing with for a period of time I could find the witness is no longer local. Arghhhhh.

They take on average, 20 weeks from submission to registration. There's no way of getting around that

You can get all the paperwork done, signed and posted on the same day. The delay is just then for it to be stamped and returned so that it can actually be used, but there’s no further requirement for the witnesses etc.

Perfect thank you. I didn’t want to put in a witness signature for DH only to find that person had to do the witnessing of signature in future weeks (and then to be away). Unfortunately I need to be speedy (and not convinced there’s even time but I must try).

We do have three attorneys lined up but due to mucking around of posting it and getting it back with their signatures I’m wondering if it would be better if it were just me because the paperwork can then go off in post tomorrow. Getting two other attorneys signature could cost me a week in time.

I hope this helps.

There is a Mumsnetter who runs Marlow wills and did mine and DHs wills and LPAs. DH was going in for a triple bypass so the LPA was urgent.
We did then as standard, but she said that if it became necessary to expedite the LPAs it would be possible. Her advice was set all in process if the worst happened to contact her and she would put the expedite in process. So going to a professional rather than doing it yourself is probably best in an emergent situation.

What decisions does he want you to make, is he able to make decisions about his care at the moment, is it health or finances that need arranging.
