No win no fee solicitors

Has anyone used a no win no fee solicitor and been happy with the outcome. If you did who were they and would you recommend them. We have issues with our property which has been caused by developers adjacent to us and it has greatly impacted on our selling price.

Just remember that no win no fee is risky if you lose as they usually exclude cost of disbursements, from the no fee, so you would be contractually liable for filing fees, and potentially other associated costs.

my experience wasn’t that it’s “no win no fee”, but you purchase an insurance against losing.

so if you win the other side pay your legal fees, if you lose the insurance pays them.

this is England btw.

Has anyone in here actually ever come out with some level of financial recompense after a hearing ?

I used Fentons Solicitors for a personal injury claim against the local authority for careless placement of barriers (I fell down a hole and hurt my knee which has never been the same). They were easy to deal with. Fentons arranged all the medical appointments and so on. It was all done via phone and internet. The LA admitted culpability but it took about a year to settle the case out of court for a 5 figure sum. They paid my solicitors fees.

@Friendlygingercat can I please ask, after you submitted all the evidence to your solicitor, what happens next? I have just done this but have no idea of the next steps. Thanks.
