Car accident - Winns Solicitors

Hi there . I'm hoping someone can advise . I am on my husband's car insurance policy as a named driver .
Over the weekend I was coming off a roundabout (two lane exit) and I was hit by another driver . I believe he was going at speed .
At the scene he was very angry and blamed me saying I hit him . I was very shocked , tearful and upset . I believe he hit me and looking at the markings on my car I think this backs me up .
In truth however my mind is completely blank and I am struggling so hard to piece together what happened . It was all so quick and so scary . I've been driving for nearly 30 years and this has never happened to me before .
When my husband phoned the insurance company they gave us a couple of options . Go through them or they would pass us onto a specialist solicitor to claim for compensation arising from the accident . He chose the latter .
The paperwork is all so baffling and I'm wondering was this the right choice ?
My understanding from what they have said is that if we lose we have to pay half of the excess on our motor insurance policy . If we win they take their fee .
All I want is my car to (hopefully) be repaired and to get back on the road .
Has anyone any experience of this ? I'm so confused and still struggling (can't sleep , tearful - sounds silly I know)
I'm imagining us losing our savings , business , house etc if it’s decided I'm at fault . I don't think I am but the other chap was so angry and so adamant I was at fault I'm doubting myself.
Thank you so much in advance for any advice .

They're a claims management company. Go back and see if you can go through insurance.

Claims management are probably ok if it's a clear cut case but in a dispute and also a roundabout crash it'll probably go to court and you'll end up having to show all sorts from bank statements to prove you couldn't cover the inflated hire car costs

Go through insurers. It is simpler.

RA accidents are normally 50/50 as it is so difficult to prove.

Stop worrying now the claims company makes money on inflating hire car fee and storage of your car mostly.

If you do not need a hire car do not take one.

Collect your car from the garage.

When we told Winns we didn't want the car hire they have said they therefore won't represent us .
Our car has already been taken by the garage to be checked over .
Really confused and worried now .
Any advice would be appreciated . Thank you .

What have the insurers said? Winns make their money from inflated car hire charges that they claim from the at fault insurers. You need to go back to your insurers and ask for the claim to be handled through them

Second going through the insurance. Claims management co's can provide quite shocking service. Not worth the risk. However they don't normally call themselves solicitors as dear as I'm aware?! Off to Google them.

Roundabout claims are almost always 50/50 if the cars are established on the actual roundabout or exit.

Is your car repairable?
