Have been contacted by a company that mum may be entitled to inherit from an uncle that has died without a will . Mum has severe dementia and is in a care home and has no capabilities of signing form/ or understanding what is happening. There is no power of attorney in place (that’s another thread), is there anything as daughters we can do?

who is managing her affairs - it will be them

I agree there must be someone looking after your Mum’s finances etc.

As your Mum can’t sign a POA you could apply for deputyship https://www.gov.uk/become-deputy This will take time but does mean you can act for your Mum.

Thank you we are trying to establish who is looking after her affairs, but in the meantime I will look at the deputy option.
