Is it ever acceptable to email the other solicitor directly?

My neighbour and I have the wrong title plans for our flats and essentially have to swap by drawing up deeds of variation and new title plans.

My solicitor approached a draftsman who took 4 days to get the title plan drawn and the freeholders solicitor who took 2 weeks to get the deed ready. I am the one in a hurry as I am selling. This resolution has been 18 mths in the making so it's been very expensive and very stressful.
My neighbour agreed to it all and was very reasonable. Got a solicitor straight away but that solicitor still has nothing after 5 months and keeps writing the most evasive emails.
I have seen his email address on some communications. Would I be unreasonable to send him a polite but pleading email?
TIA

They won’t take any notice: it would be a conflict of interest.

Your solicitor needs to write.

Or better still your neighbour needs to change to a solicitor who will deal with it immediately.
