Issue with garage repairs

I had an MOT on my car last week, and on the advisories it said the rear nearside tyre had cuts in it but no threads showing. I asked the garage to replace both rear tyres and took the car in on Friday 23rd.

On the way home after the repair the tyre warning message came up on my dashboard for the offside rear tyre so I got it inflated at a garage. It had deflated by the next morning so was obvious it was punctured. I had to find an emergency tyre repair company who were absolutely marvellous. Their observations were
The offside tyre that replaced had had puncture repairs in the past

The nearside rear tyre is dated 2021 and is not a new tyre. ( that still needs replacing).

The front tyres are dates 2023 and 2024. I bought the car in May 23 and haven't replaced any tyres until yesterday.

I can't speak to my garage until Tuesday, it looks to me like they replaced the wrong tyres, what do I do? I'm in a small rural community here so it's prudent to not go in all guns blazing even though I'm pretty cross,
They know the rear nearside tyre is not safe so what possessed them to replace what were reasonable front tyres?

Sounds like a simple error on their part in that they replaced the wrong pair, hopefully they’ll sort it easily for you. They sound pretty crap though, any decent tyre fitter should know that new tyres always go on the rear and the others should be rotated appropriately.

Yes its an error but when it comes to tyres, it ceases fo be simple , it is downright dangerous.

Not that dangerous, after all the tyre was an advisory only. Some of this falls on you, why did you not check the correct tyres had been fitted when you collected it? You should at least be checking they’ve fitted the correct brand/size that you’ve paid for.
