Any HR or Employment Lawyers? Flexible work situation q

I have had a flexible work agreement in place agreed in August 2022. At the time it was stated it was subject to review every six months and if I change assignments I would need to submit a new request.

After a period off with work induced stress (another story, but due to managerial issues) I am due to return to a new role and have been told the agreement won't continue. (I haven't formally applied, I had forgotten the details about expiration and mentioned it to the new manager in an introductory meeting). I assume I should have been told to formally submit a new request, but I think I've cocked up here by not doing so and his mind is already made up.

However, the same original manager with whom there have been issues did not once conduct a review. I don't want to become argumentative with them, I want to go back to the new role and do well, but the flex is very important to me for family life (it's just finishing early one afternoon per week with hours made up elsewhere). I'm wondering if this has never been reviewed, could I consider it now to be the standard working pattern for me? Long shot, but I'm stressed, trying not to be stressed as I face the hurdle of returning to work, and I'm pretty desperate.

Sorry that's rambling.

I don’t think it matters OP, sorry. The FW arrangement won’t automatically continue to the new role if the hours are different - you’d have to submit a fresh request. If you’ve already accepted the new role then it will be difficult to try and renege on that and go back to your old role so I think another request is likely to be your only option!

Why are you going into a new role? Is that your choice?

I know at my place of work standard working terms are revoked if you apply or choose to move to a new role, so I imagine the same applied here (eg we used to get paid bank holiday pay, but then they stopped it for new starters. Anyone who already had it kept it unless they applied for a new role or promotion at which point they had to sign a new contract without bank holiday pay. If the company chose to move you into a new role you could keep the bank holiday pay terms though). It’s a large listed company so I imagine the treatment was legal and well advised.
