I'm looking for someone who deals in property matters - landlord/tenant and also to discuss professional negligence. I can't write too many details here but I need to find the right person today and am hoping someone can help

Have a look at the 'find a solicitor' section on the Law Society website. You can search by area and speciality.

Can the Law Society's find a solicitor feature help?

Thanks for both and that's helpful - I'm hoping to find a Mumsnetter who is also a solicitor and can give me a personal recommendation of someone they trust or indeed themselves!

But anyone can be anyone on here. Be very careful about that.

yes you're right

well that covers me, and I say that asking for this kind of recommendation on here is totally pointless. I can recommend you a great L&T solicitor but they act for institutional landlords and will be charging from £800/ hr plus vat. Someone else will pop up with their conveyancer. Etc etc.
work out what it is you need and then do your own research based on the issue, the value and your budget. Is it a property litigator that you want as that will be different to an L&T lawyer who negotiates leases and variations? The whole point is that someone would need quite a lot of detail to make any kind of useful recommendation. If you can’t or won’t provide that to a bunch of random strangers then you really do need to rely on your own research.
