Can I accompany to driving test?

Good afternoon,

A friend of mine is due to take her driving test tomorrow AM. Her passenger to accompany has had to cancel last minute. I have only held my licence for 6 months. I'm assuming probably not but would I be able to accompany her to her test using her car?

Thanks for the advice!

No, you haven't had your license long enough.

No. But you could driver her there if you’re insured for her car?

@Change2banon Didn't even think of that! Do you think it'd be expensive?

If you have your own insurance for your own car, you might have driving other cars extension, but you’d only be covered third party only. To get added onto your friends car could be anything from free, £25, £40 upover, depends on company and policy.

@Change2banon That's super helpful, thank you. I'll look into it tonight :)

You can get 1-2 day car insurance cover outside her cover. I've done it before. It was like £40 for the week. Theres a few companies doing it.

Not sure if they'd cover you as youre a fairly inexperienced driver. But may be worth a look

@Antsinmypantsneedtodance Thank you. I insured myself on my partners car just after Christmas as he had a drink and I didn't have a car yet! Only passed 2 weeks before so I'll see if I can use that company again if I can remember who it was with!

You can do temporary policies on Cuvva and veygo. They are cheap enough usually. 6 months after passing my test I borrowed a friends Audi A3 for 2 days. It cost £20 x
