Is my landlord going to sell - grant on probate

Hi all

Would appreciate some advice. I've had an email from my property manager, who's asked to arrange a visit from a property valuer. They say it's been requested by the landlord for a grant on probate.

Does this mean that my landlord / the owner has died, and that they're going to sell the property??

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks!!

If the landlord has died they'll need a probate valuation for the estate account and to satisfy HMRC if Inheritance Tax might be in play.

Whether it's sold or not is a different question. It would be for the executor/administrator to make that decision. They cannot sell until they've got probate though I guess if they wanted to they could market it once they've got their ducks in a row.

Thanks - but it definitely means the landlord has died?

Well that's how it looks to me but a conversation with the agent will confirm.
