DBS confusion

Without going into too much detail I once got a call from child services over a very big misunderstanding about my children's safety, they listened to my side and immediately closed their "case" in the same phone call because they didn't believe I was a risk to my own children and that they weren't necessary for me.
I moved on but years later I have decided I wanted to pursue a career working with children, will this one call out of the blue show up on a dbs check for this sort of thing or is it just a little blip I need to forget about and follow my dream career? I'm really worried it's going to hold me back, it's just the one phone call and I've never been in any kind of trouble before either.

www.gov.uk/criminal-record-checks-apply-role
It is a criminal records check. The enhanced DBS will include records from local police like cautions and reprimands.
It doesn't sound like your informal phone conversation amounts to any of these. There is a lot online about what is covered.

No - it won't.

Unless you have been convicted of a crime - been to court, police etc
A call from child services (social services) won't show up.

Even if something does show on your DBS; you can usually write an email explaining the circumstances.
For reference; I have an offence of "battery" - which I was convicted of in court - I wrote an email explaining the circumstances and was allowed to go to uni and become a social worker.

That is an incredibly warming anecdote, well done and thank you for sharing it with me it's lowered my anxiety a lot!

An enhanced DBS check can include information from Social Sevices if it has been shared with Police. However, it would usually be something like if a child was removed from their parents care, were on a Child Protection plan etc.

One follow up call from Social Services from years ago is unlikely to be disclosed on your DBS.
