Broken washing machine day of delivery

Hi all,
I had a washing machine delivered today through Very.
We unpacked it, followed the unpacking instructions, connected the hose, water and plugged it in. Turned it on for a test wash and it's leaking, from the front.
I'm going to ring very tomorrow but what do you think they'll say?
I can't figure out why/how it could be leaking from underneath at the front. I'm so frustrated. I paid extra to have it delivered today and it's not working.
Just editing to say we didn't break it, I just realised the title makes it sound like I did something. I didn't. I followed instructions to the tee.

Is it the filter if it’s leaking from the bottom front? Maybe it just needs tightening closed?

Thanks for your reply. I've tried turning the filter at the bottom but it will not move. It doesn't even budge, so I did wonder if it was an issue somewhere there.

Good luck!
We had (from.a different company) total disbelief that a fridge they had delivered could possibly be faulty. They wanted to send am engineer - 2 weeks later. When they cancelled that appointment on the day, I lost my temper, and told them a month with a fridge that heated things was totally unacceptable.
They delivered a new fridge the next day...
While loosing my temper wasn't great, I would say be very clear as to what is acceptable and what isn't. I wish I'd been more assertive earlier.

Ask for a refund it’s one of the rare circumstances where your entitled to a refund as it would be classed as dead on arrival

Thanks both! I'm right in the middle of potty training too, so could really use a working machine ASAP

I'm tempted to ask if you aren't a bit old for potty training...

Assuming you ordered the washing machine online, you have the right to return it for any reason within 14 days of delivery and receive a full refund. As it is faulty, that means you have the right to reject it within 30 days of delivery and receive a full refund. You do not have to accept any alternative they offer.

Ah, that's really useful! Thanks @prh47bridge !
They only offered the option of getting an engineer out, they're meant to come on Friday.

Take photos / videos for evidence and ask very to arrange a replacement.
If you need them, which have some good letter templates that are free to use, even to non members, and explain your rights.

Thanks everyone, the engineer came today and some filter at the front had cracked so that was replaced. Hopefully that's the end of the washing machine saga.
Typically I'm away for the weekend so will have loads of washing to catch up on next week, which is my week off
