Broken bed

We bought a bed a few weeks ago for ds. One of the slats broke within a week so I reported last week and the company are coming out next week to fix. Over the weekend more slats have broken and now it’s completely unusable. From looking up statutory rights I can see it’s possible to reject goods in first 30 days, ideally I want the bed repaired but if it happens again I want to return it, however it will be 3 weeks since delivery by the time it is repaired and much of our 30 days has been taken up waiting for the repair and not being able to use the bed at all. Is it still 30 days for a return in a case like this? I’m wondering whether to just ask them to take the bed back now

you might not be able to get a refund - just a repair or replacement.

You can get a refund within 30 days indeed statutory rights it just that we be nearly at the 30 days by the time I get to the repair. If I get it repaired and it breaks again as it’s a design fault I don’t really want to keep having days of work for them to come and repair it. I actually purchased the extended warranty so have cover for 8 years but it’s a pain in the arse keep getting it repaired if it turns out to be crap.

If it’s breaking to that degree at this stage I’d reject it amd not accept a repair

It’s got good reviews online which is making me think we’ve just been unlucky and got one with a fault rather than it being the product in general which is why im
hoping a repair will do the job, im just wary in case it doesn’t

The clock stopped running when you requested a repair. It will start running again once the repair is completed.

Note that the 30 day limit applies to the short term right to reject. Once the 30 day limit has passed, if there are problems you have to give the retailer a chance to repair or replace the bed. If the repair or replacement fails, you are then entitled to reject the bed and receive a refund, although the refund can be reduced to take account of the usage you have had of the bed if it is more than 6 months since it was delivered.
