Question re Trustpilot

Had a horrible experience with a company. Put a review on Trustpilot. I have received an email from Trustpilot saying that the company want to understand more and it will help them to write a response if I give my details- otherwise the review could be deleted.
I would prefer not to do this as I want to leave it anonymously and also don’t want the company to twist my words or continue to lie.
Anyone know what the likely hood is that it gets deleted if I don’t provide my details?
Ive never had that before with Trustpilot and I reckon it’s a ‘clever’ way for the company just to get your review deleted if you don’t respond.
I am very angry about how I was treated.
Would rather be anonymous and not be pressured to give my details and give them the chance to lie (as people in the company have done) and to twist words.
Thanks

As a business you can flag reviews for a number of reasons to be investigated by the Trustpilot content review team.

Some of those reasons can be if the review makes false claims, is defamatory or is not based on a genuine experience. Trustpilot then undertakes their own investigation to ascertain whether the review is genuine, the content is within their guidelines etc.

There's a good likelihood that if you ignore the request for more information from Trustpilot then your review will be deleted. It's important that they have this process in place otherwise people could go on and trash a company with very damaging reviews out of malice or spite. I'm not saying this is the case with you, but it is reasonable to be asked to verify your review is fair and based on an accurate description of events.

However providing more information to TP doesn't mean that this information will be passed back to the company.

The email from Trustpilot says it’s the company who’s asked for my details. Since I don’t trust the company at all, I doubt I’ll put my details to them. Seems a shame as I feel everyone should be entitled to share an awful experience anonymously.

If they take it down they will then ask for evidence that your review is real

Eg emails, orders, invoices etc
Depending on nature of business can be difficult to prove
Took me ages but I got there! Understand your pain

Ps don't forget Google review too

If you're being truthful and can back up what you're saying, why would you mind the company knowing who you are? What do you think is going to happen? Presumably if you've already made a complaint then you would be known to the business already.

You might not agree but i

If they take it down, I may just leave a google review- thanks for reminding re that option. I take it I’m entitled to and they can’t do anything about that? I guess unless they also try to take that one down!

Hit post accidentally before I'd finished typing.

You might not agree but a company is allowed a right to reply, and it can't address or respond to negative reviews if it can't look into the details of what happened. Nor would it be right for someone to be allowed to post something reputationally damaging without having to provide any evidence or identify themselves.

Google have a similar process for businesses to flag reviews that violate their content policies. But their moderation process might be more relaxed than TP, or the business may not actively monitor their Google reviews.
