Hello,

I've named changed as not to be outed as in a precarious position. I'm hoping someone can help.
Ex Dp and I bought a property 7 years ago with 3 dc. We split up within a few months due to DV. EX was arrested when he broke the terms of non mol.
Ex remained out of our lives for 6 years, I adjusted as a single mum. Worked full time paid all bills - but have run up large debts with childcare fees, credit cards and loans. Ex never saw /maintained contact with the children.
Ex has recently reappeared and I have emailed him to request a sale, this is due to his reappearance and some unusual events around the outside of the house which could not be explained. Ex has offered to buy me out but this a very low offer to which I cannot move on with. I wish to proceed with the sale but ex has emailed to state I don't have a chance of locating him and it will be costly. I have no address for him. I don't have the funds to mess about in long legal proceedings. Both of us are entitled to half of the equity but I cannot sell without his permission. What chance do I have at starting over again?

Amy ideas or advice greatly appreciated.

Consult a solicitor. Don't let him threaten you.

The court can force sale and sign documents on his behalf.

Thank you both. Will be booking a consultation next week.

Court can force a sale, and you can get permission to serve him via email (or other social media) and/or the court can sign on his behalf if you have evidence that he is deliberately evading proceedings. Unfortunately you are likely to need a solicitor to assist you.
