Wills/new child

We've just been lucky enough to have our 1st baby. We are not married. Both previous divorced and own a house together.
we have wills already, both leaving everything to the surviving partner.
we are planning to marry at some point in the next 1-2 years
should we make a new will now to include our son or would we then need to make another one on marriage?

A will written before a marriage is void after a marriage , so you would have to sign a new one once married.

The previous post isn't entirely correct. If your will names your partner, states that you are intending to marry and that it will not be revoked by marriage, it will still be valid provided you marry in a relatively short period of time. Your marriage plans seem a bit vague at the moment, so this probably isn't going to work for you. However, if you firm up your plans, you should be able to make wills that will still be valid after marriage.

I think that you can add a codicil to your existing will to include your son.
