Where can I take my children until the court date

I'm looking for ideas where to take my children in public areas. I was thinking the library as I've taken them out and spent money on them at fun places but I can't afford it every weekend. I need some where where it's warm and free.
The judge allowed me to see them weekends in public until the proper hearing. This is because my ex made up lies that someone made my 13 year old watch porn.my child didn't know anything about this and so I have video evidence of him saying this to use in the next court hearing. But the reason I applied for court in the first place was because my child said his dad said all English girls are sl4gs. So obviously me and family got mad and then child's dad accused us of always talking about him to the kids this not allowing me to see them. So now I just need to find places to spend time with them until this next court date.

Library is an excellent idea. You have a 13 year old. How old is/are the other(s) as this will change what would work?

What are the ages besides the 13 year old? Do you have any local community hubs that would have free activities/events on weekends?

I hope you have discussed the video evidence with your solicitor.

Courts hate people recording their kids for 'evidence'.

They really do. It goes heavily against you.

Shopping centre? Museums are often free.

Do you have a cafcass officer involved? Speak to them about what your child said, don't spring a video on the court, the judge will not be impressed. Obtaining children's accounts is what cafcass are for.

Any museums or local community hubs?

Latenightreader · 31/12/2023 09:15

Museums are a good plan - if they do charge, they will often do an annual ticket for the price (or a little more) of an ordinary ticket.

Beach? Walk in the woods?

Another vote for museums.

Bus or train ride somewhere?

Look on line for your local council to see if there are any activities in community centres near by. There might also be a list of 'warm spaces', these are usually free and you get a hot drink.

Garden centre? I know a couple that have loads of stuff in them, pet shop, cafe, one has a huge collection of goldfish and tropical fish.

Ok I won't tell them about the video evidence I will tell them what he said. Thanks for the ideas everyone :)
Also the court asked me for a mental health report from my GP. Should I send it to court in the post or give it to judge on the next court day?

Send it in advance by post and email. Never leave evidence until the day of the hearing. You run the risk of the judge not having time to read properly.
