Car insurance and added driver's claims

Hi. I'm about to switch to a new insurance. I got a quote from Marmalade amd went with them. I then received an email asking me to urgently get in touch with them as they need to discuss their findings after a claims check. I had declared neither. The first one was from an accident I had, in which I was not at fault, therefore I did not need to make a claim; the other party's insurance paid for the repair works on my car.
The second one was a claim my husband (who would he added to my policy as an additional driver) made on his own car insurance last year, after his own car got damaged by debris in a big storm.
The live chat person said this will increase my quote. I questioned it, as neither of the two events had any bearing on my insurance. He insisted that it is standard for events like this to be declared.
My husband has never declared my non-claim event and was never asked about that.
So, what is your experience? Have you had to declare your additional driver's claims that they had claimed off their own insurance?

Yes, you have to notify them of ALL claims, accidents and incidents.
Non- fault
Non-claim
Claimed off another insurance policy.

the questions specifically ask you about any incident you (or any driver) have been involved in, regardless of if a claim was made.

You are lucky they have contacted you now rather than cancelled your insurance and pursued you for fraud.

The questions were not that specific, no. I double checked. But I've found that it does ask about additional drivers, I think I didn't think because I knew he hadn't had any accidents.

Of course you have to declare this stuff. The questions are always pretty clear in my experience!
