It's all gone quiet, does that mean it's all over?

DS got a letter from the court about an unpaid private parking fine. It was for a day he'd been at a conference at a hotel, he reckoned he'd input the details properly, but it appeared he hadn't.

Anyway, he submitted a "defense" that he'd never had any correspondence, that he would have resolved it at the time if he'd known anything about it. Weeks passed but then he was sent a court date. He wrote back about 6 months the ago saying what he'd said before and that he hoped matters could be resolved without the involvement of the court and sent a copy to the court. He's heard nothing further from either the company or the court. What next?

Has he attended court? When is / was the date?

The date is long passed and no he didn't attend, he submitted a written defense.

Write to the court and ask for the outcome? Odd that he hasn't heard from the court.
