Defendant excused means?

Hi, my ex is currently undergoing pre-trail preparation at Crown Court (he's been charged with coercive control and criminal damage and has pleaded not guilty). His next hearing is tomorrow, and I just saw on court serve that it says the "defendant excused." I want to know what it means in legal terms/court language. Is the case dismissed, or what? Sorry, I'm just panicking right now. Thanks in advance.

It just means that the defendant doesn't need to attend the hearing. It might just be to discuss administrative issues. What is the case actually listed for tomorrow?

@Looolabell Thank you for your message. It's very reassuring. It's listed as further case management in his name, and underneath it says defendant excused.

Then yes it's more of an admin hearing then hence why he is not required to attend and therefore is excused.

@Looolabell Thank you so much!!! I can't even express how grateful I am. I would've spent the entire evening with anxiety if it weren't for your message.
