What non-financial documents might we need from the deceased

We are clearing my late father's paperwork. He tended to hang on to pretty much all paperwork.

We are keeping anything related to his bank account, pension, tax or investment.

Is there any reason to hold on to stuff like health insurance or doctors letters, invoices for work done on his house many years ago, etc?

Invoices for work done on the house might be helpful if it is ie boiler, roof, general building work, windows etc.

My mum had the same sort of paperwork.

I put all the house type stuff in a folder which I left for the new owners to sort through.

Financial stuff, policies etc worth hanging onto until all the probate stuff is sorted and funds paid out.

National insurance number! It's the one thing that tripped us up with my mum, I've now got it written down in several places
