Selling shares as executor of will

My parents bought small amounts of shares from companies when they went private back in the 80s. I'm dealing with mum's estate and these seem to be some of the last things to sort.

The options I am being given by the holding company, I don't really understand.
Can anyone who has been through this advice me please? It's such a small amount the holding company aren't really bothered about helping me out too much.

We have gone through probate, and I am in England if that helps.

If you've gone through probate and these shares have not been left to anyone in the will (and in other words are part of the residue) then as long as you can get market value then you can sell them and realise the cash value.

Alternatively, you can ask the beneficiaries if anyone wants the shares instead of cash at a fair value and in that case you would use a stock transfer form.
