Plants against neighbours fence

I moved into my house 2 years ago and a new neighbour moved in last year (we don’t get on).
We both have old established gardens and the fence between us has lots of climbing plants on my side from before I moved in.
The new neighbour has decided to replace her fence and has said I can’t paint it (fine) or attach anything to it, again fine, but what about the existing climbers? Do I have to cut them all down or as they are already there does the new neighbour have no say over them? It’s such a shame as they are beautiful and attract birds and insects.
I wondered where I stood legally

I don't know where you stand legally but you could put trellis panels behind your plants and in front of the new fence and attach the climbers to that. I have done that in our garden as I didn't want to have plants against our fence in case it encouraged rot.

Don’t know the legal position but our neighbours replaced a fence with a wall and told us ‘for the avoidance of doubt’ that we were not to attach anything to it. We were quite annoyed as we had a rose attached to the fence which they replaced. We put in wooden posts against the wall and strung wire between them and the rose is supported on the wire. Would something like that work for you?

Thanks both, great ideas
