Can I film (CCTV) nasty neighbours behaviour?

Just that really, I have a really horrible neighbour who has been abusive to my family & I for 4-5 years!! They are just plain nasty!!

The problem is it’s all name calling, sneering etc so that we can hear/see, probably hoping for a reaction that they aren’t getting.

I had hoped ignoring the problem would help but it seems to make them more determined.

Its a shared garden, we don’t use it as near impossible to do so due to the behaviour of them. But can I cctv this are legally? Camera wouldn’t be in the direction of neighbours property.

Someone else suggested Ring doorbell for recording as it would also pickup voices but I’m not sure that would be allowed?

Im just so sick, anxious and down with the whole carry on but not in a position to move.

Tonight we had neighbour & family member talking about me and looking in my face laughing, whilst they both had work uniform on.

I know it’s so trivial and silly but it’s constant episodes like this that grind me down. I know this cant be reported to police as I tried before and they said it’s not a crime, which in the bigger picture there are far, far more serious things for them to deal with.
How much are people expected to put up with. I had visitors at the time and it was humiliating.

Im going to diary note it all over again. I think I’m more angry with myself for not standing up to their nonsense!! Sorry for the rant, needed to vent.

As I said earlier, whilst it might not be something the police want to deal with, it's still a legal matter that can be dealt with using an injunction in the county court, the breach of which will absolutely be a criminal matter.

Who do they work for ? Some contracts state what no anti social behaviour whilst in uniform ?
