Can schools refuse to show school work to parents

DD informed me that her teacher said she wasn't allowed to show me her PSHE school book during an end of term stat and share.

I contacted the school to understand if DD had misunderstood almost two weeks ago. I've heard nothing.

I can't find anything clear on the schools website.

Are primary schools allowed to do this? I'm not concerned about the content, I'm more worried about the principle. Especially given the cover of the Times today.

You may be interested in this OP - Keegan is writing to all schools to tell them they are not allowed to withhold teaching materials from parents:

A lot of the more odious agencies maintain that breaches copyright if their teaching materials are shared with parents. The reason they don't want parents to see is because are ideologues trying to brainwash the next generation

Well, if they feel so strongly about copyright maybe they should focus on corporate clients and leave the education sector to others who understand the need for transparency and accountability. 🤔

I don’t blame you OP. Our school were very evasive regarding PSHE and didn’t have some materials to hand during a parent talk.

Low and behold DD came home a few weeks later and told me they had been taught that “children can be born into to wrong body” 😕
