Hi I wonder if anyone can give some advice my child came home last month with bruises to both ears. I contacted my child’s father with pictures and asked if he could explain why our child has come home with bruises. He denied all knowledge of this. My child then told a staff member at her nursery the next day that her father caused the injuries. Social services where then involved. My solicitor (due to previous child matters) said without enough evidence I would be breaching the court order and should monitor the situation closely. Since then this weekend my child has came home with an apparent urine infection which I believe isn’t true. He took her to a walk in centre and was given anti biotics which he was told do not give until diagnosis confirmed. He wrote in my child’s contact book that a doctor has confirmed this which isn’t true. I know this as I rang my child’s doctors. I have since sent off my child’s urine sample which I am still waiting for results. I am going to withdraw contact due to these concerns. There is a court order in place and I am the resident parent. Thanks for reading.

What is the link with the urine infection? On the face of it, he thought the child might have an infection so took them to the doctor. Doctor gave antibiotics. Did he give the antibiotics or not?

His next step could be to take action against you to enforce contact which would almost certainly succeed. As your solicitor says, you don't have enough evidence.

He has gone against doctors advice which clearly states do not administer until diagnosis confirmed. Then failed to tell me that my child needs a follow up Drs appointment for a urine sample and wrote in the contact book doctor has confirmed this diagnosis which isn’t true x

I think most people would expect reasonable parents to sort this out. It is pretty unusual for a doctor to give antibiotics if they didn't want them to be taken. In any event, you also seem to be trying to use this as sufficient to stop contact. I doubt that it is. It just looks like you are looking for a reason tbh.

The antibiotics situation is definitely not a reason to stop contact, that sounds petty and like you are searching for a reason.

The bruises would concern me a little bit but If I was given a satisfactory explanation I would monitor the situation.

The GP would not of prescribed the antibiotics if it was not confirmed, stop searching for trouble OP, it's not a safeguarding issue at all
