Advice - hotel & sexual harassment from staff

I've NC for this as some communication has been sent to the hotel chain, but as yet, no response.

A relative of mine and companion recently stayed at a hotel (which is part of a chain with global presence). Everything was prebooked. When they arrived for dinner, a staff member took them to their table and started making personal remarks about their appearance (complimentary but unwelcome). They made it clear, politely that they felt this was inappropriate.
As soon as they'd finished their meal the same staff member brought a bill to their table. They explained everything was prepaid. Staff member said that all that was needed was for them to write their phone number on it, that's what he wanted.
Again, relative & companion politely rebuffed. There seems to have been the suggestion that the person knew which room they were in. They ended up barricading the door during the night as they felt so intimidated.
More of the same followed at the next mealtime.
When they tried to complain, it was brushed off by management as a ruse to get a discount, despite them never mentioning anything about cost, but about behaviour.
During the course of their stay, they spoke with younger female staff who were wary of the same person who'd dealt with them and made them feel uncomfortable.
An outline of the facts with dates, times and names has been sent to the most senior person in the company that can be found on social media.
And.... as yet, absolute silence. Not an acknowledgement, not any apology for how they felt, nothing.

To add a little detail. Relative is female. So was their companion. Staff member was male.

Where do we go from here? Guessing that verbal harassment when it's one persons word against another doesn't warrant police involvement/reporting? But loath to just let this lie.

Go nuclear on social media?

Paq · 07/11/2022 19:17

Leaving detailed feedback on TripAdvisor might prompt a response...

Are they on Twitter?

ItWasABear · 07/11/2022 19:29

Relative doesn't have Twitter. I initially contacted the company there asking how to lodge a complaint and was asked to DM them info (which would confirm the booking). Did that heard nothing.

Should I repost there, publicly with more info, do you think?

Relative may have TripAdvisor access. Will ask.

You can register a Twitter/trip advisor account easily. Some people don't like SM but it seems the quickest way to get an organisation's attention.

Thanks, Paq
I have advised them to try TripAdvisor.
Can't believe that despite multiple tweets they have just ignored us. I am trying to see if there is any sort of regulatory body for the hotel & tourism industry but so far not finding anything obvious.
Just frustrated at how the whole thing has been handled, and obviously concerned about my relative's experience.
