Can I withdraw a c100 application?

Hi everyone. About 2 weeks ago I completed a c100 application online. I haven’t had any updates or correspondence regarding my application yet. I am aware it can take at least 4-6 weeks to process according to what it states on the government website.
I am wondering if anyone knows if it’s possible for me to withdraw my application before it is processed and potentially given a court date or decision?
My reasons for the application are complicated but the main reason is to restrict access between my ex partner and our young children. This decision was not taken lightly and it is not a result of an argument or feud between ex’s. The sole purpose is protection for my children. Not physical protection but the protection of their mental health. Potential harm caused by their father during our relationship and more so, current mental health issues and trauma caused by them having contact with him on a regular basis. My children and I are being supported by our GP and local services plus their schools which is wonderful.
I am debating withdrawing my application due to fear of their father’s potentially aggressive and angry reaction when he discovers what I’m applying for. He has never been physically aggressive or abusive towards the kids, only to me, but I am concerned any possible aggressive response would be witnessed by the children and harm them further.
I would rather not be the one to take this matter through the courts and let him be the one to make an application himself…if he decides he wants to do that.
Is there any way to stop my application going forward?
Thank you

I’d crack on with the application
if he is being abusive to you it will be causing untold harm to them

changes to digestive abuse legislation now recognise children as victims of da in their own right in this context

But in answer to your question you will need to apply to the court for permission to withdraw and set out the reasons why

I'm going through the exact same thing, my ex is controlling , was in DA relation with him for 11 years , hes still trying to control everything including my two children who are 10 and 14, they dont want to go with him given how is behaviour is, and his girlfriends swears and shouts at them aswell, I completed the c100, now I want to withdraw it, as same as you I'd rather him start the application. Could you let me know what you did to withdraw it?
Thanks

Did you withdraw? What’s the outcome?

Hi.

Did you manage to get it withdrawn? If so how long did it take and did they make you attend the first hearing still?
