Witness statement and exhibits

I've had a look online and cannot find an answer, I've rung the courts to see if they can advise but no answer.

Court hearing will be over Teams. Putting together my witness statement with exhibits.

How do I display my exhibits? They are mostly emails. Do I copy and paste them? Or screen shot them onto a word doc?

I don't know how get them to the court...any advice would be great! Thank you

You will need to file your documents with the court (either hard copy by post or email) and send a copy to the other side - this needs to be done well in advance (check any directions you have as to what needs to be served & dates)

The links below have useful advice on hearings themselves:

Thank you for your reply and links.

Got through to the court and they would like emails to be PDFs - so will save them with the case number and exhibit 1 etc.

They need to be exhibited to the actual witness statement, not as separate documents.

At the end of your statement, after the statement of truth, put header pages in, followed by the exhibit the page refers to.

Use the header for your statement as the basis for the header page:

Court:
Claim No:
Claimant Name
Claimant
and

              Defendant Name
                                                     Defendant

Exhibit [Your initials] 1 (and so on)

Print your statement and exhibits to PDF and insert your exhibits behind each header page for its number.

In your statement, put (exhibited herewith as Exhibit [Initials] [No.] ) when you're referring to the exhibit in your statement.

That didn't format. Thanks, Mumsnet!

This is the closest I can find online as to what I mean.

@NoWordForFluffy
Thank you so much for your advice and the screen shot. That's really helpful.

Is there such a thing as too much evidence?

The last court order was a few years ago and there are a lot of examples which illustrate why the changes are reasonable and necessary.

As long as it's all relevant and proves your claim / disproves the other party's, no.

However, if you had a disclosure direction, your disclosure / documentary evidence should have been served then. You wouldn't be the first person to use the statement as a way of getting more in, however (plus there is an ongoing obligation re disclosure). I have never done this, nope! Cough!
