As the title says really. There's over £10,000 in arrears, 2 previous liability orders which were collected little by little through bailiffs. During which time of course no current CM was paid hence the arrears build-up. No payments at all since last summer when the liability orders were cleared and the latest news a few weeks ago was that the CMS had passed the case to the enforcement team and they were looking at setting up a deduction of earnings.
Then a phone call this week to say that due to (Non-paying parent)'s "personal circumstances" they would not be looking at the case for the next 6 months, and then review from there whether they would pick it up again.
Of course they could not tell me anything specific due to GDPR, but I cannot fathom any legitimate reason they would just let off someone for (at least) 6 months who has done everything to avoid paying. What possible reason could there be? Have ruled out prison or hospital and after all the years of simply refusing to pay and using every trick in the book to avoid it, what possible excuse could he have given for the CMS to decide a 6 month break before even looking at the case again is a reasonable course of action.
Does anyone have any idea what it could be?
