I’ve set up a community class that is, as far as I’m aware, the only style of class in our area. A woman came along to it and 2 days later set up the exact same thing in the local area too. She used photos she took at my class to start advertising hers, however now she’s got the same equipment she’s now using photos of her own stuff.

I’m quite upset at this because I had spent so long researching/buying equipment and I feel it will affect my income. She’s copied it exactly and now advertising her class in my area! Obviously I haven’t got copyright but I don’t want to ignore what she has done either. I’d like to be able to stop her from doing it rather than looking for an financial award but is there any point going to solicitor and pursuing it legally?

I appreciate any advice people have for me. Thank you.

Unfortunately you can’t stop someone setting up the same sort of business as you.

Thank you- I think in my heart of hearts I kinda knew that, I just wanted someone to say actually no you might have a case!!

I’m just shocked (and very angry) at her audacity…cheeky fuckers everywhere it seems!

It’s shit but I doubt she’s done anything legally wrong

Thats mean of her, just make yours more attractive than hers. What sort of business is it, can you offer special deals, open evenings..
