Help with will/trust

My mum died last year and my sister and I were executors coming now to the end of sorting everything and the house sale is going through. My mums will left equal shares to all our siblings with my brothers share being held in trust as he is mentally/physically disabled. We need help to set this up, do we need a specialist solicitor?
Will he lose his benefits which took my years to sort out? Thanks

Mencap offer a service that sets up trusts for people with disabilities. I'm not sure how they compare cost wise, but worth considering.

You need to speak to a solicitor, my son had learning disabilities and we have set up a trust in our will so that his share can go into that. There are a couple of different kinds of trust, think ours is a discretionary trust. The type of trust will have implications for whether it will impact any benefits he gets.

Mencap have some good information www.mencap.org.uk/advice-and-support/wills-and-trusts-service
