Making a new will

I made my will with a solicitor, years ago, as part of Will Aid month.

I now wish to make a new one, but it's more straightforward, with everything being left to one person.

Do I need to make a new one with a solicitor or will a DIY will suffice? Trying to think what's the cheapest way of doing it. Thank you.

You don't have to use a solicitor, but be aware that probate solicitors get a lot of income from sorting out faulty DIY wills.

Thank you What would I need if I didn't use a solicitor?

There are still a lot of charities that will support you to write your will at no charge. I've had an e-mail from Dementia UK just today as it happens.
Obviously they hope you will leave them a gift in your will, although that is not a condition of using the service. People will feel differently about if they should.
