When does a discussion with a neighbour become a dispute?

Hello everyone

I’m hoping to sell my house later this year. The house next to me is a rental and the current tenants have been a bit irritating. For the record I’m not against tenants at all, I was one myself! And all the previous ones have been lovely. For example, they repeatedly parked across my drive blocking me in and I couldn’t get out. I texted the owner about it (I know her reasonably well) and it stopped immediately.

Do I have to declare this as a dispute when I move?

I don’t think that’s the kind of dispute you need to declare. AFAIK (happy to be corrected) you only need to disclose a neighbour dispute if it’s turned official, i.e. reports to the police, solicitor involvement etc.

If you’ve sorted them problem out between you and the LL then it’s not a dispute any longer.

Thank you for the reassurance! I want to do the right thing but obviously wouldn’t want to compromise the sale.

If I understand you correctly, you asked them to stop blocking you in and they stopped immediately. That isn't a dispute. If they had refused to stop or tried to claim they had the right to park there, that would be a dispute.

Thank you, that's made me feel much better!
