I don’t even think this is a thing!!!
I filed on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour. Listed 5 very diplomatically worded reasons.
He now says that he wants a copy of the marriage certificate to make his own application based on true reasons 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
It doesn’t work like this, does it?

Degrees are no guarantee of common sense or being remotely sensible!

@TizerorFizz oh l know but he had quite a serious job but increasingly spoke so much nonsense!

Thanks everyone. The marriage was outside of the UK and it’s be difficult for him to get a copy. I’ll let him have a scan. He can do what he pleases with it, it’s all about control on his part. I get the need to be amicable but if I am he will just move the goalpost. He doesn’t want the divorce even though he says he does and he is not at all prepared to take any responsibility. I’m just scared as there are young kids in the middle and he used them in the past, and won’t hesitate to do it again.
Do not give him a scan.

He is an adult.

Even if it is difficult for him to get a copy it is not impossible.

Ignore him until you are sorting out the finances.

The guy is an idiot. Courts don't care about the reasons for divorce other than to tick the box and move on to the next stage. He'll simply waste money filing again.

I assume he has been served so he should be able to read where he can choose to continue - there's an option for if he still wants to go ahead with the divorce but disagrees with the petition. He does not have to file a whole separate petition. He is perfectly within his rights to contest the divorce which is rare. But I get that it's all about control. Equally this means that you need to make sure you don't react to everything he asks, says and does. I hope you have a good solicitor. I would keep a diary of everything that happens because I agree that the Courts take into account the conduct of each party.
