FAMILY LAW- POSITION STATEMENTS

Hi! New here!
I am midway through a child application case, instigated by my ex partner. I am representing myself as I am unable to afford legal advice and cannot find any info online about my issue.
Cafcass s7 report done - very bad for him.
Judge has ordered us both to submit position statements with a time and date deadline- but that deadline passed a few days ago. He has failed to send a position statement. What does this mean? Surely its breach of order?

His legal team have acknowledged my position statement and said they are awaiting instructions.

Any advice will be gratefully received :)

Hi Flora. My ex acted as a litigant in person and regularly failed to submit position statements on time. The judge in my case bent over backwards to accommodate ex as he was a LIP, sometimes allowing the late submission of the position statements but as this went on and it was seen to be a way of trying to control and deflect from the proceedings, it backfired for ex. In the end the judge referred to his late submissions as his lack of respect for the process and the people involved.

I kept meticulous records of such things so that I could observe the pattern developing, and in my case (as I"m sure with many others) it was an incredibly stressful process but in the end, by following the rules, deadlines and actually showing I wanted what was best for my child, the right outcome was reached. Good luck!
