Noise nuisance

Would noise from a child ever be classed as noise nuisance? From a neighbouring property?
Like if a child sometimes jumps down the last stair when they're going down the stairs?

No

I doubt it! Most people are relatively tolerant when it comes to the noise children make as it's accepted that kids are just... like that sometimes. :)

I think if your little ones are constantly hollering at the tops of their voices you might find your neighbours aggrieved, but jumping down a step seems pretty alright!

It is because my neighbours are harassing us and have basically been reporting us for anything and everything
They are far from reasonable unfortunately
I just wondered what the law or whatever would take into consideration
It's just me and my child there

Have you spoken to the police about them harassing you?

purpleme12 · 02/11/2021 14:51

Yes it's all ongoing

Invest in some headphones.. Put them on going in /out of your home. They can see you have no intention of listening to them.
You are allowed enjoyment of your home. Keep a diary of any abuse. Keep reporting. Every time.

Noise is only a nuisance if it's outside the accepted realms of normal. Some fools don't understand this and think their neighbours have to be silent. Children playing, laughing, crying, jumping, squealing, being pretty annoying, are all normal noise.

Not the same, but our previous neighbour complained to the council about our dog barking. The council recorded it and took no further action because even though the dog did sometimes bark it wasn't excessive. There's no way a child being a child would come any where near the nuisance threshold (unless you're going to drip feed that they like to do their trumpet practice at 3.00am).

The best thing to do is ignore but them keep a record of every incident where they harass you. The problem with people like this is that they don't want less noise, they want no noise, ever and that's not realistic.

I am ignoring them cos I absolutely hate them and want nothing to do with them. Wish I'd never moved here.

I'm just so worried
Already can't stop yourself thinking about them

She's been kicking off today. I know they're going to report me tomorrow
I'm so worried

The more she reports the more she looks like an idiot op.
