Do all divorces end in 50/50 split

I have a friend who needs to divorce her incredibly abusive husband (not physically, yet) but is worried that the money and assets will be split half. Even though she has earned a significant amount more than him in 10 years.

Where does she stand?
I know it's coy and not a lot of info but what's the standard procedure?

Thanks

I’m also interested for a friend about to embark on the process.

Where are you? If it’s Scotland, the official line is that 50/50 is the starting point, it can vary according to circumstance but is unlikely to go further than 60/40. Much more emphasis on a clean split and spousal alimony pretty unlikely.

No, all divorces do not end in a 50/50 split. Assuming you are in England or Wales, the split is determined by a range of factors. She may get more or less than 50%. She needs to see a solicitor. Once they are in possession of all the facts they will be able to advise on the likely outcome.

In England it's the starting point . Rarely works out 50/50

Thank you for your responses. We're in England. I'll tell her to see a solicitor and hope she listens.

If he is that abusive then 50:50 might be a small price to pay for freedom.
