Will advice

I wonder if anyone can help me please?
A relative has died and apparently no will can be found. I actually have a copy of the will which was sent to me by my relative. It is signed and dated and has been witnessed by two others. But it has been photographed and electronically sent to me via picture message. It was sent to me as I am named as executor. Is this sufficient or do I actually need a paper copy?

When you say one can't be found. Do you mean at the solicitors?

It looks as though it was a DIY will so I doubt it has been sent to a solicitor

Oh ah ok, then I would speak to a solicitor yourself, they should be able to say if a photo would be admissible to the correct people.. If you have a copy then the original should be somewhere

I fear that the original may have been destroyed

In which case definitely speak to solicitor as they can advise you, you have proof that at some point in time there was a will. So if you're concerned that someone's pulling a fast one they might not know a picture was sent to you.

Are the witnesses living ? Getting them to make signed statements about the will and it's contents could help ?
