After the Form E

I'm LIP for my divorce and have finally got my STBXH form E. It's a mess. I'm going through it all but I'm not clear how to structure my thoughts/questions/issues.

What is the actual difference between the questionnaire and the statement of issues?

Also - since I filled in my Form E, I have taken voluntary redundancy. How do I inform the court of this?

(Please don't advice I get a solicitor, I can't afford one)

SOI is issues of fact and issues of law.

Factual issues include valuations, whether assets have been fully declared, and things like that. Legal issues are whether spouse maintenance is an issue etc.

A questionnaire is a list of questions you want answering and documents you want providing. They have to be relevant to the case, so either things missed off his Form E or things relevant to issues ID'd in your SOI.

Thank you so much, that's so clear (and I'd done a ton of googling).

If my STBXH has lied in his form E, do I outright say so?

You will be given an opportunity to produce a statement of issues and a questionnaire. Bring it up there. If, for example, he has omitted some assets, you should ask questions about that in the questionnaire. It will help if you have evidence to show that he is lying.

Sorry, didn't read the full thread! I see you've already been asked for a questionnaire and an SOI. Use them to raise the problems with his Form E. You don't need to throw around words like "lying". Just stick to the facts and set out what is wrong.
