Will a solicitor hold on to a bank card for a prisoner?

I have my sons bank card with me whilst he is on remand. It's causing a lot of issues and i'm concerned for my family's safety. I don't want to destroy it but I just cant hold on to it anymore. I have emailed his solicitor to see if I can pay a fee for them to hold on to it until he is released ( most likely this year sometime) They are on leave so won't respond at the moment.
Do any legal people on here know if this is an option?
Thanks

@legalseagull.thanks this is the info I was after.
I will call the prison and inquire about sending it.
I can’t get my son to request it from me because I’ve had to block him.

@GuiltyPleasure. I’m not going into details on a public forum.

A solicitor wouldn't touch this with a barge pole as they'd likely get into trouble - it's not what we are regulated and insured to do. Only exception would be if your son appointed solicitor as an attorney and had a proper file open and client care letter in place

I’ve spoken to the prison and they have advised me what I am able to do.

I'm glad you've got it sorted

No, you can ask the bank to cancel the card as not required until he’s out. However the solicitor can receive post on his behalf

The solicitor got back to me today to say they are not able to help. Its sorted though now. The card is at the prison in his belongings

Yeah, post it to the prison, addressed to your son.
It'll go in his property, and be handed to him on his release day.
If you include a letter adressed to him, that can tell him what you've done- he'll get the letter, but not the card.

thanks, I have written a separate letter today and posted it.
