How to avoid being sued when sharing a story about bad experience with companies

Dear all,

I want to share my story on here about a company I've used that others shouldn't. It's been helpful for me in the past, particularly re our loft conversion. But I don't want to be sued!

How can I do that legally???!!! Can I just write exactly what happened, no opinion, without comeback? I think the events speak for themselves tbh!

Yes stick to the facts that you have evidence of and you can’t get sued.

You can't stop the company taking legal action but if you stick to the facts they won't be able to sue you successfully.

Thanks.

I had heard ther even if you quote verbatim there could still be ground. That worried me.

Quoting verbatim from correspondence they have sent you could be breach of copyright, although I would be surprised if they pursued this.

You need to have proof of everything you say. And, even if you do, Mumsnet may take your posts down if the company concerned complains.
