Child prohibited steps order

Hi there,

I need some advice regarding an existing prohibited steps order against my ex. This order was made a year ago and since we have been working things out and are happier. The order states that he can only have supervised contact with my son.

If we have both agreed to letting him have unsupervised contact or maybe if we get back together in the future would i be breaching the order? Or could I get into trouble?

My ex rang the courts for advice regarding this matter and the advisor over the phone told him if we have sorted our situation outside of the court then its fine.
I just need that 100% reassurance before I take any steps.

Sorry if this sounds confusing.

No, you won't get into trouble. The order is specifically to stop him doing certain things. It allows you to take enforcement action against him if he breaches it. It doesn't stop you agreeing to him breaching it. No-one will take action against either of you.
