I'm looking for some advice about whether my electricity company would still be obliged to deal with my ongoing complaint if I were to switch to a new supplier.
It's been a year since I first lodged the complaint, and they're so bloody awful at dealing with it that I'm just at the end of my tether now. I want to be rid of them and their terrible service.
They owe me compensation, and I'm concerned that if I switch now they will just file my case in the bin and I'll never get my money back. Do they have a legal responsibility to resolve the case? I feel like they'll string me along forever and I'll never be able to leave.
For context, this is in Portugal, but I assume they're probably subject to some EU-wide law on these sorts of things. It's a Spanish company that operates throughout the EU (Iberdrola).
If anyone has any ideas I'd be most grateful for them.
