Caught speeding - address on driving licence is wrong.

NC for this. Basically I have been caught speeding and have received a NoIP to my current address where my car is registered. When entering my driving licence details onto the form I realised I haven’t updated the address of my driving licence. I have now submitted an online application to do this but have I caused more problems for myself? What’s the next cause of action from here? Thanks in advance :)

This happened to me.
I had to take my licence in to the police station. I explained why I was there and that I hadn't realised I hadn't updated the address on my licence after I had moved house 2 years previouly.

The man on the desk said ' That's a fine of up to £1000'. I knew that, having looked it up when I realised, but it wasn't good to hear it confirmed, especially since I was being offered a speed awareness course rather than points on my licence so the address error was going to have much more serious consequences than the original offence.
We went all through the formalities then he said he would keep the licence to send it off to get the address updated.
I asked when I would hear about the fine.
'I said it was a fine of UP TO £1000,' he said. 'Starting at zero.'
Phew!

@Scarby9 Thankyou for sharing your experience. I’m a naturally anxious person anyway and always expect the worst tbh!

Had you submitted an application to change it online or just left it as wrong?

I hadn't done anything at all. To be honest, changing the address had never crossed my mind.
I ought to say that this was some years ago, back in the days of paper licences, so I don't know if there was an online application process then or not. The police physically sent off the licence to be changed - which was probably sensible as I may have forgotten to do it again if it had been left to me...
