Hi! Probably stupid question but...

Under consumer law, I have 3 months to claim an item is faulty. But, is 3 months e.g 23rd June to 23rd September or is it 12 weeks?

Thanks Smile

No idea where you are getting 3 months from. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you have 30 days to exercise the short term right to reject. After that you must give the retailer one opportunity to repair or replace the goods. If that is unsuccessful you can exercise the final right to reject. There is no time limit on this but if it is more than 6 months after purchase it is up to you to prove that the goods were faulty when you bought them.

I was writing quickly so didn't feel the need to go into which law.

You know what, I've no idea where I got 3 months from Grin trying to balance 3000 things. Got muddled up and couldn't remember whether the company told me 12 weeks or 3 months to request a repair for something, so wanted to check what it was most likely to be, but that's with regards to the companies own policies, which actually infringe on my rights as a consumer (which is why I'm taking legal action as they're refusing).

Apologies for the mix up but very helpful to have these replies nonetheless!
