Have been told today I'm up for potential redundancy. The time scale for this is to be done by the end of August. Ive been employed for 18 years, reading up online I think I'm entitled to 12 weeks notice - am I correct or have I misunderstood what ive read??
No official consultations have happened yet.....heck i dont even know what the redundancy criteria is....

Notice just means you have to be paid for 12 weeks.

You are entitled to 12 weeks notice. They must pay you that even if they don't want you to work for those 12 weeks.

You are also entitled to redundancy pay. How much you would get depends on how old you are. You get half a week's pay for each full year where you were under 22, one week's pay for each full year where you were aged 22-40 and 1.5 week's pay for each full hear where you were aged 41 or more.

If in UK, you can claim contributions based job seekers allowance via universal credit the day after you are made redundant, if you don't have a new job
